The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB) is developing and manufacturing prototypes of high power density electric motors with integrated power electronics for avionic drive trains of the future.
Siemens’ Software Defined Inverter (SDI) offers power electronics that is open for digital innovation via flexible software modules. The SDI community lab leverages student creativity to develop and support a vast range of SDI applications in IoT, cloud and Industrie 4.0.

TAPAS Community Challenge
The TAPAS Board is an inverter board, completely open source and open hardware. It was developed in cooperation with sponsors and can therefore be distributed for free. To develop the board further, an open developer community will be established. The community challenge was the starting point for this.
